The rum
of
the bat

Doña Amalia Bacardí found a colony of fruit bats in the rafters of the distillery — a sign of good health, family unity and good fortune. She put one on the bottle, and Santiago started asking for el ron del murciélago. The rum of the bat.

Fill a tall glass to the top with ice — more ice, less dilution. Pour the rum, top with cold cola, squeeze one lime in and drop the second on top. Never stir it flat.
